References to Sources of Information in the Book:

When the Second Edition of the book was prepared, both ORTEC and Canberra websites carried sections devoted to technical reports which were useful information on the scientific basis of gamma-ray spectrometry, development of their detectors, electronic devices and the software needed to analyse the spectra created by their systems. In general, all those articles were provided as pdf files.

But times have changed and Canberra has been taken over by Mirion and the huge Canberra repository of useful information disappeared. The ORTEC website has been remodeled and their trove of information has disappeared as well. Both companies have reinstated access to their archives of technical data, to some extent, but the URLs accessing the individual documents have change and some of the new URLs are inconveniently complex - which created a nightmare for the webmaster of this website.

Mirion has now created its Mirion Knowledge Hub where a huge number of technical articles can be found. At this moment in time, it is not possible to say whether the new Mirion articles cover the depth of information covered by the old Canberra articles.

ORTEC's technical papers can now be found in their Library of Technical Papers. However, many of the Ortec older technical reports have also been archived by DirectIndustry Connect where you can find those articles.

In updating the ORTEC and Canberra links, it might have not been possible to find a link to a specific article, in which cases, a link to one of the locations mentioned above will be provided. Sometimes, when a specific location has been found, the URL might be inconveniently long and/or complex, again a more general URL will have been provided. In a few cases, if the required item is particularly important, a pdf stored within the website will be provided.

These pages are intended to carry links of relevance to gamma spectroscopist. I have no doubt forgotten many. The lists are inevitably Anglo-centric because they reflect my own experience. Relevant links to European, American, indeed worldwide sources would be welcome. If you have a link that you feel would be appropriate here, please use the feedback form to let the webmaster know. Please make any suggestions relevant to gamma spectrometry.
